Banff Alberta here I come

I just found out that I've had another conference paper get accepted! This one is in Banff alberta Canada, the IEEE 2006 Workshop on Signal Processing Systems (SiPS'06).
From what Ive heard Banff is one of the most beautiful cities/resorts of Canada. The conf is from Oct 3-5th. Hmmmm... I think its gonna be a very relaxing get away. It'll be a kinda backup incase I dont enjoy myself in San Diego in September. Either way I think I'm in for a hot tub fiesta there. hehe

there must be something out there...

our hearts are like window shutters. We open them in our cold winters with hope of warmth and pull them down when the light is overwhelming, the sun burning.
at other times we opt to just peek through, as if to sent out an invitation to the very few privileged rays of sunlight.

As I was walking home from the lab last week an ad caught my eye. It was regarding a Chinese University looking to recruit students from Canada. Now that's a little weird on its own but what came next was what really sent shivers down my spine : "come learn Chinese, the must-know language of the future".
